Doorways (I and II)

6 Dec

These two poems seem absolutely perfect to express my feelings while I am away in Morocco.   What better way to live your life than through constant examination of yourself and where you are and to where you are going?

Looking through a doorway,
Seeing columns standing guard,
A world resembling ours,
But where do we go when we step through?

What do we do?
Do we enter a world exactly like our own?
Or is it some unimaginable landscape?
Unbearable temptation to discover the unknown.

Doorways  (II)

Would you go or would you stay?
To leave all for the unknown.
A risk to gain all or lose everything
Do you have the courage to step forward?
Or are you held back by inhibitions?
What limitations are you living under?
What master holds your puppet’s strings?
